Job Overview: A leading Industry E&P Software and Services Company, providing subsurface information solutions to the oil and gas industry worldwide seeks a Geoscience Technical Account Manager with fluent Italian to represent the Company in Italy. The role offers a great deal of variety and scope, and the opportunity for career progression.

The Company provides leading integrated geoscience and engineering software and associated services for prospect generation and evaluation, enabling oil operator clients to proceed with less uncertainty and more confidence in their exploration and production activities. They have a global network of sales, services and user support from 25 offices in 22 countries, serving all major oil and gas producing provinces in the world.

The Company is well established in the Italian market, already providing a large and diverse portfolio of software and technology support services to medium sized and major oil companies. Your role will be to work proactively with the current client base to identify and develop business opportunities, whilst building relationships and business growth with potential new clients. You will increase awareness and reputation of the Company's solutions within the Italian oil and gas sector.

Responsibilities: Reporting to the Sales Manager for SW Europe (based in Paris), this role encompasses many functions including:

* Become competent in the Company's products and services (training will be provided) so that you can resolve some technical queries as required. (Main technical support supplied via the Company's remote support team).
* Become the first point of contact for all local clients, managing the relationships between the Company and clients. Establish yourself as the Technical Account Manager.
* Located in Milan, you will work predominantly 3-4 days a week with one of the Company's major oil company client's. You will identify the users of their software, the key decision makers etc. You will build relationships and establish yourself as the focal point for the Company in all matters, in the first instance.
* Become knowledgeable in the Client's E&P disciplines and the potential for business growth in each.
* Identify and develop potential software sales and ensure that all potential leads are relayed to relevant Company personnel. Where required demonstrate the technical capabilities and additional value of new software solutions or upgrades.
* Identify software and data workflows and help to optimise, demonstrating added value.
* Coordinate any opportunities in support services, training, consultancy and services. .
* Proactively raise awareness and reputation of the Company's sub-surface technology and related services within the oil company client and in the general Italian oil market.
* You will act as the liaison between the Company's local techncial account management and the strategic management of the SW Europe Territory in relation to all business/commercial matters. You will work closely with the Regional Directors of Support Services and Technical Sales.
* As you become technically competent in the Company's solutions, lead large scale technology deployments, strategic and complex technical projects as required.

Preferences: The successful candidate will have:

* Fluency in Italian and English essential.
* A degree in an earth science related discipline essential (e.g. Geology, Geophysics, Petrophysics, Reservoir Engineering…) .
* Desired 5 years petroleum industry experience, with an E&P oil, service, software OR consulting company essential. Preferably some work experience in an Italian Company.
* Self-motivated, highly proactive and able to set your own targets, with the ambition and drive to achieve.
* Ability to work autonomously
* An understanding of the technical software applications used in the upstream oil and gas business essential. Preferably in the Landmark, Paradigm, SMT or Schlumberger suite.
* Clear understanding of the E&P business cycle and the technical drivers of oil companies essential.
* Some specific discipline expertise in geology, geophysics, petrophysics and/or reservoir engineering essential.
* Some sales or business development experience desired but not essential. A strong desire to succeed in sales highly advantageous.
* Comfortable with technology (software and operating systems e.g. Linux / Unix workstations and system administration) advantageous.
* Strong desire to advance your technical knowledge of leading edge products and solutions.
* Ability to explain the Company's value proposition of technical products and services essential.
* Credibility based on track record and local experience desirable.
* The ability to listen and understand the problems, challenges and constraints of clients. The ability to document clearly these parameters and detail the requirements.
* Excellent communication skills - verbal, written, listening, including good presentation and facilitation skills.
* Excellent analytical skills with capability to generate value propositions.
* Comfortable making corporate presentations to all levels within client base from user to executives.
* Good problem solving, trouble-shooting and deductive reasoning/analytical skills.
* Active team participation, however, must be self-motivated.
* Ability to travel within Italy.

Package: An attractive salary of between 50K - 65K EURO plus a performance related bonus and Italian Company Benefits.
